Setting up FlClash is a short story: import a subscription, flip the switch, pick a node - usually enough. Here is every step, explained one by one.
Import Your Subscription Link
A subscription link is basically the "node list" issued by your proxy provider. FlClash can read it in two ways - pick whichever works for you:
Method 1: Open the Link Directly (Easiest)
Open the subscription link from your provider's dashboard in a browser or chat app. The system usually asks whether to open it with FlClash - accept, and the import finishes by itself.
- Copy your subscription link from the provider's dashboard
- Paste it into your browser and open it
- Choose FlClash when the system prompts you
- Wait until the node list finishes loading
Method 2: Paste It Inside FlClash
If the first method does not work, importing manually only costs an extra minute:
- Open FlClash and switch to the "Configuration" tab
- Tap the "Add Configuration" button
- Choose "URL Import" as the type
- Paste the subscription link into the field
- Tap "OK" and wait for the download
Flip the Switch and Go Online
Once the subscription is ready, head back to the FlClash home screen. The big switch on the page is the master control - tap it to start proxying:
- Return to the FlClash home screen
- Locate the proxy switch (usually top or center)
- When the status changes to "Connected", the proxy is live
- Try Google, YouTube or GitHub - they should load normally now
π‘ Tip: On the first launch, Android will ask for VPN permission and macOS/Linux may prompt for a system password. Both are normal - just allow them.
Choose a Node That Suits You
FlClash offers several ways to pick nodes, so you can match your habits:
Auto Select
"Auto Select" is the default mode: FlClash keeps picking lower-latency nodes for you, which is fine in most situations.
Pin a Specific Region
Want to stick with a certain region, say Hong Kong, Japan or the US? Here is how:
- Open the "Proxy" tab
- Find the region group you want in the list
- Tap a node and FlClash switches immediately
Speed Test First
Not sure which node is fastest? Let the built-in test decide:
- Tap the "Speed Test" button (lightning icon) at the top right of the proxy page
- Wait a moment while every node is tested
- Pick the node with the lowest latency
A Few Handy Settings
Launch at Startup
To skip opening the app manually every time, enable auto-start:
- Go to FlClash "Settings"
- Turn on the "Launch at Startup" option
- Done - it will start with your system from now on
System Proxy
With the system proxy enabled, FlClash takes over system traffic and routes it by rules:
- Find "System Proxy" in Settings
- Choose "Rule Mode" if available
- Local sites connect directly while foreign sites go through the proxy - no manual switching
Routing Rules Are Fine as They Are
FlClash runs on the ClashMeta engine, and the built-in rules already cover most common sites. Unless you have special needs, you can leave them untouched.
